Historically Underutilized Businesses
"HUB" Vendors
The Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) Program is intended to stimulate the economic development of minority, women-owned, and physically disabled businesses.
The State of North Carolina
encourages all state agencies to expend 10% of their total procurement dollars
with HUB vendors.
University Purchasing is required
by State Statue 143-48 to provide statistics quarterly to the State HUB Office
documenting our efforts to use HUB vendors.
HUB vendors are defined as:
A. Independently owned and operated for profit
and having fewer than 100 employees or less than $1,000,000.00 in annual gross
receipts.
B. At least 51% owned or operated by one or more socially and economically
disadvantaged persons identified as women of any race, African-Americans,
Hispanic-Americans, Asian Americans, Native-Americans or persons with a
disability.
